FLIGHT DETAILS
Our exclusive helicopter tour starts from the Island of Ischia, celebrated since ancient times by poets who loved it with its bursting nature, blue sea and boundless landscapes, has always been a refuge for intellectuals from all over the world struck by its timeless charm.
Ischia – known as the island of the sun god – is of volcanic origin with small towns set along the coastline and a Mediterranean climate. It’s engulfed by magnificent colors and wild fragrances as early as in March, when the beginning of the warmer weather is announced by the undergrowth covered with cyclamens and violets and the brilliant green trees of the Mediterranean scrub.
Next overfly will be over Sorrento, an expanse of land that juts out towards Capri and the rest of the Mediterranean and it lies just south of the Bay of Naples. It is a sequence of cliffs and overhangs dominating the coastline – with a few small bays along the way – blessed with a view of the enchanting deep blue. This is the Sorrentine Coast, with its sloping terraces cultivated with oranges, vines, olives and, most of all, lemons, all the way to the sea.
Then we will fly over Positano, a splendid city that takes its name from Poseidon, god of sea. It’s known throughout the world for its incredible beauty and for its mermaid profile lying on a breathtaking stretch of coast. It became a tourist destination only at the beginning of the twentieth century, when it was frequented with increasing assiduity by VIPs, intellectuals, by well-known personalities, up to become one of the reference points of the international jet set.
Indeed, various elements have contributed to determining the success and fortunes of this splendid reality.
The typical beauty of the Amalfi Coast, the inviting and famous beaches of Positano, the enchanting sea of the Gulf of Salerno together with the suggestive aspect of the houses of Positano perched on the mountain (and capable of recalling a nativity scene) offer a show truly unique in the world.
Enjoy then an overfly over Amalfi, the town that gives its name to the coast. It is said that Amalfi takes its name from the woman loved by Hercules and that, on the shores of this enchanting city, he buried it to rock it with the waters of the Tyrrhenian for eternity. Legend or not, the incredible history of Amalfi, the glorious Maritime Republic, continues to fascinate the visitors who pass through here every year.
