Helicopter Wine Tour & Truffle Hunting from Rome

DEPARTURE

We will pick you up directly from your hotel or villa, and our driver will accompany you to the helipad point in Capena Helipadf. Before leaving, the captain will welcome you on board of the helicopter, and he will explain all the necessary procedures for the tour.

FLIGHT DETAILS

Out of the ordinary, the truffle hunting tour starts with an exclusive helicopter ride, over the beautiful Italian countryside from Rome to the city of Viterbo and Tuscany Region withthe Val D’Orcia area with its pearls: Montalcino, Pienza & Montepulciano. Here you will have the opportunity to admire the scenic roads with cypress and the smooth hills rich of vineyards from a unique point of view. The tour continues over the famous city of Siena with Piazza del Campo and Monteriggioni to the Chianti area, with green hills and vineyards and it’s directed to the charming town of San Gimignano, the “Medieval Manhattan”, with its famous Piazza Grande and its towers, including Torre Chigi owned by the Giachi Family.

ARRIVAL IN TENUTA TORCIANO & TRUFFLE HUNTING WINERY (San Gimignano)

You will land in San Gimignano, in our Tenuta Torciano Winery, where you will be immersed in our family with 15 generations winemakers, and you will enjoy the intense emotion to discover, experience and taste this wonderful delicacy of the Italian cooking: truffle. Together with one of the family member you will have a visit of the cellar, the vineyards and the truffle wood.
Accompanied by a professional guide with his trained dogs you can share a wonderful experience in searching for truffle throughout the oak forests that border Tenuta Torciano. In this private truffle land, you will discover precious white and black truffles and you will be taught how to identify the various species of trees and the ideal habitat for truffle growth.

Lunch consists of four courses, each of those truffles based and our chef will surprise you with a first quality match between wines and food. During the wine tasting you will be followed by our Sommelier, who will explain the secret of the art of tasting wine with different kind of food.
The winery experience consists of a vertical Wine Tasting of 13 Tuscan wines and gourmet products including personal reserves with vintage 1995, 1996-1997 and limited editions.

RETURN

Flight back to the helipad and from there a private driver will accompany you to your accommodation.
